About Us

The High Society boutique was born out of a lifelong passion for beautiful clothes. Nicola Kellett launched the shop in 2012 after unlikely inspiration from her husband, Ian, and his automotive business. Ian runs a classic car restoration and race preparation business and they have visited classic car shows such as the Goodwood Revival for many years.

A great excuse to go shopping and dress-up, Nicola always rose to the challenge of sourcing her own vintage costumes to coordinate with the cars.

When Ian’s business, IK Classics, outgrew its premises and an opportunity to expand into a former woollen mill arose, Nicola decided to realise her dream to open a vintage boutique. Nicola’s aim is to provide the very best, modern shopping experience, and the most beautiful old clothes.

High Society boutique is part of the Carding Shed development. Formerly the [insert old name of mill here], a yarn factory with a heritage in spinning lambswool, angora, silk and cashmere. Today, the mill is open to the public and as well as High Society and IK Classics the mill is an emporium for vintage items, classic cars and automobilia.

Nicola spends all of her spare time scouring the country for beautiful items that reflect the allure and romance of the mid-twentieth century.
